An Intrinsic Love for The Craft

Capturing Magic with android apps

Android app development is a great outlet for my analytical and conceptual thining preferences.  However, the monetary values of the skills developed through this effort is still a question to be answered.

It is my wish that you use and enjoy these apps.  Also, I hope that you will buy a subscription in the apps or donate to support the effort.  Also, feel free to contact me if you notice a bug or have a revision to suggest in an app.

whitetail vizion

simulates color perception of deer

First, let’s tackle the question, “Is there a need for this app?”.  The answer is a definite, maybe.  Deer hunters have a need to go unnoticed by their quarry and understanding deer vision is helpful. This app simulates the ‘Protanopia’ (That’s a real word!) of whitetail deer.

There is much more to their vision than this app can demonstrate, like the tremendous capability to see in low light, their sensitivity in the ultraviolet light range and their physiology well suited to detect movement. But, this app tackles the technical aspects of letting us see the color shift percieved by whitetails.

tournament 3d

archery scorekeeper

The origin of this app was completely utilitarian, except that I wanted to forece myself to learn how to use sqlite.  Which is meaningless to most app users and probably not worth mentioning in this description either.

3D archers can keep score for an entire group they shoot with.  Designed to be easy to use and has had some features added over time that may be of questionable value. For instance, you can change the background, and based on the score that is recorded for a target, the app will encourage or mock the shooter.
